Meet Darren Hamilton
New Ideas, New Leadership for Oklahoma's 3rd Congressional District
I grew up in the rural Western United States following my single mother around where she could find work training horses. At times we were on welfare and could barely make ends meet. Somehow she kept me fed and took care of me. I helped out on the ranch from a young age taking care of the animals and did the best I could at school, even though we moved a lot and I changed schools just about every year. The life I had as a child taught me that if I want to succeed, I need to work for it. Only through hard work, education and perseverance can anyone succeed. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Earth Science - Geohydrology from Montana State University - Bozeman.
After college I went to work in environmental contaminants testing, however it was not my dream. By chance I fell into a career in satellite technology and have been working in the industry ever since. For over 23 years I have been designing, building, launching and operating communication satellites. I like to think I'm a space cowboy, some folks call me a rocket scientist. I also have the honor of holding 3 patents. I was able to live my dreams, but in recent years I see everyone else's dreams falling apart. I fear for my children's future, I fear for all of our kid's futures.
I believe it's time for significant and real change in Washington DC. Are you sick of politicians promising to fix the problems we face only to see them go to Washington D.C. and serve special interests rather than the folks that elected them? I know I am sick of it, and I endeavor to be different! Our district is the heart of what makes America great, with a legacy of hard-working, God-fearing people who built this state from the frontier. We need to keep that tradition and the promise of a better future to our children. We need new ideas and new leadership, because what is happening in Washington D.C. is not working. This is why my campaign is committed to bringing a fresh perspective and innovative solutions to the challenges facing our mostly rural district. My goal: to serve the people of Oklahoma with integrity, transparency, and accountability. Whether you're a small business owner, a farmer, an employee, or a parent, I'm here to listen to your concerns and work tirelessly to address them. We're all taxpayers, what are we getting out of our hard earned taxes? Together, we can build a brighter future for our district, for all Oklahoman's and for the United States of America.
